Educational content and safety

The manual and this website are educational and are not professional advice. They cannot account for the specific condition of your home, wiring, plumbing, or vehicle. Electrical, plumbing, gas, structural, and automotive work carry real risks, including electric shock, fire, flooding, injury, and death. Always follow the safety warnings, check your local codes and permit rules, and hire a licensed professional for any job beyond your skill or listed as "never DIY." You are responsible for how you use this information.

Prices and results

Repair prices mentioned on this site are typical US ballparks and vary by region, home, and season. The Man of the House Test score is a self-assessment based on your own answers, not a professional evaluation. Savings depend on the repairs you actually do.
